FEBRUARY 2025 Trip Report
February Weigh In!
RBAA’s first comp of the year is Done & Dusted!!
It was fantastic to see some new faces at weigh in especially in the Junior and Female competitions and welcome familiar faces back after the Christmas break.
The variety of fish species presented at this month’s Weigh-In was once again remarkable. With some great catches such as a 5.523Kg Jew caught of Inskip Point by Stuart Peall.
The variety of fish produced from the straits and the beach continues to amaze with Bream, Cod, Dart, Flathead, Mangrove Jack , Tarwhine, Yellow Tailed Pike and Whiting being weigh in.

A great role up of Junior Competitors weigh in at this month’s comp with Ollie Pearce presenting a good mixed bag of fish, scoring 25 points with Molly Segger in second on 5 points and Sonny Bennett in 3rd with 4 points. We had our first tie-breaker for the year as April Segger also accumulated 4 points however Sonny presented less fish to take out 3rd place.

The variety of fish produced from the straits and the beach continues to amaze with Bream, Cod, Dart, Flathead, Mangrove Jack , Tarwhine, Yellow Tailed Pike and Whiting being weigh in.

The offshore fishing was limited to in close with winds gusting up to 18 knots on Saturday.
The quality of fish weighed in was great with offshore species limited to Tusk fish, Trevally, Jew and Frying Pan Snapper. As offshore conditions were tough, a group of us headed to Teewah Beach and caught a good bag of Dart and Whiting to open the points account for 2025.
