MARCH 2024 Trip Report

The March competition is now wrapped up, the focus was on inshore fishing with the offshore competition cancelled due to severe weather making conditions unsafe for a bar crossing.
Tailor, Whiting, Bream, Dart, Flathead & Mud Crabs were weighed in with good numbers being recorded.

Competition Details
A go as you please event held between Noosa River Mouth and the northern tip of Fraser Island on 9h February – 10th March 2024.

We had lines down at 4:00am Saturday with lines up at 12:00pm Sunday. The weigh-in area was at The Deck@Sea Salt.

Offshore
Offshore competition cancelled due to severe weather

Congratulations to inshore winner John Hollingworth with a close win with a total of 19 points followed Chris MacRae  – 14 points & Travis Pinney – 12 points.

With trying conditions for boaties even the straights were difficult fishing. Offshore winners Stuart Peall 1 point

and Vern Ezzy 1 point

Well done to our Juniors with Benny Stafford the winner with 9 points, closely followed by Ollie Pearce 8 points and Mia Pinney 3 points

Mud Crab Competition and recipient of the Crab’n Gear prize pack was Gary Enklemann with great crab topping the scales at 1.595 kg. Crab quality will only get better as the season progresses

Saturday: Low tide 12:47 – 0:40m, High tide 7:16 -2.25m, Low tide 13:34 – 0.41m and High Tide 19:32 – 1.82m (Noosa Head times).

We fished 1 night before the dark moon.
