Female Anglers

Female Anglers are actively encouraged to join the Club and participate in the Monthly Competitions
for both Junior and Senior Anglers and in the Club Social Events.
The Junior program has attracted a high percentage of girls to become involved in recreational
fishing with 50% of the participants being girls.
Ladies were prominent in the 2023 Awards with Lisa Lipross being awarded the RBAA Angling Award
for the most improved and Kim Wright being the 2023 Champion Adult Female Angler.
The Club anticipates that the current Junior program will attract more female anglers to the sport of
recreational fishing .

RBAA is the largest amateur fishing club in Queensland with the largest junior membership. We are an inclusive club with an emphasis on fun while learning and competing.

Competitions Trips

Regular Competition Trips are held as Go AS You Please events, fishing commencing Saturday morning and concluding at Noon on Sunday with Competition Weigh-In at the Deck at Sea Salt at 1:00pm.

Competition boundaries are from the Northern tip of Fraser Island south to FB sign north of the Noosa river (cannot fish Noosa River) and all tidal waters in between.

Junior Program

Putting a large emphasis on our junior angler education we help equip young fishers with skills they will use over their lifetime.

The Junior Program is designed to provide children with an outdoor educational experience that will give them the skills and knowledge to; Explore the beach safely, Fish sustainably, and Appreciate the natural environment while having fun and being mentored by an experienced local fisherman.

Let’s Tackle Waste

RBAA in cooperation with the Gympie Regional Council (GRC is helping to reduce marine debris in our region.

The aim of the Let’s Tackle Waste program is to determine the amount & types of rubbish that is been littered on Rainbow Beach.

RBAA members collect litter from the area and record the type & amount of litter, the GRC accumulates important data over time, and the GRC can then tackle rubbish from the source, and together we can make a bigger impact.
